Northern Consultancy Co was established in 2015 to meet the needs of brands and businesses seeking unique events and experiences in the cycling and outdoor sports industry. Our client base is global, and we have become a renowned specialist in our field of operations. Our projects range from tailor-made invitational experiences to global sporting event series.
If you like diversity in your work this is the perfect role for you – one week you could be riding the gravel trails just north of Tokyo and a week later eating pizza having just finished an event in Italy. This role would suit a passionate, energetic person excited to maximise every opportunity given!
We work to a 4-day week (generally Monday to Thursday). However due to the nature of the work, hours will be flexible and there will be some weekend working required. The role is remote and will include frequent overseas travel.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the logistical elements of our current and future managed events.
- Develop new events and experiences for brands in the cycling and outdoor sports industry.
- Be the point of contact with interested brands/businesses and establishing the customers’ requirements.
- Work with other team members to price events, create budgets and negotiate costs with suppliers.
- Identify resource requirements, establish timescales and create tailored workflows for each event.
- Review contracts and third-party supplier proposals and maintain systemised record of these
- Attend events when required in a supervisory and advisory role.
- Maintain appropriate client communication from initial point of contact and to keep records of communication updated in client files.
- Track client and supplier invoicing and costs on managed event projects.
- Create detailed documents for every event to ensure accurate communication.

Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of the bicycle and/or outdoor sports industry.
- Passion for cycling, ideally with experience of off-road riding.
- Good project management skills (essential).
- Good communication skills (essential).
- Ability to work to tight timescales.
- Able to use own initiative and work creatively, but also to follow company policies and procedures.
- Able to work as part of a team, as well as individually.
- Happy to work remotely, but able to attend face-to-face meetings and events when required.
- Able to deal with customers effectively.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally, often without supervision. You will need to hold a valid passport.
Desirable:
- Copywriting skills.
- Good working knowledge of Social Media
- Good working knowledge of remote working tools such as Slack/Trello etc
- Hold a current valid driving licence
Salary and benefits:
- Salary to be discussed and will be dependant on experience, but will be circa £30,000 per annum.
- A bonus related to profit scheme will be in place as part of the package.
- A company phone and laptop can provided where required.
- We do not cap holiday allowance. Holidays can be taken (upon approval) when needed.
