Northern Consultancy Co. are thrilled to be launching a four-day working week for all staff, without any reduction in pay, to support the cause for improved employee wellbeing.
The concept of the four-day work week has been featured widely in the media, stating that reduced hours resulted in employees feeling happier, more focused, and more productive. We’ve been inspired by success stories and it’s always been a goal of ours to implement something like this.
Founder of Northern, Paul Errington, explained the reason behind it:
“When you are a company hooked on adventure, then two days a week downtime just isn’t enough. That’s why we have started a new four-day working week – without any reduction in pay – to help support our employees with a healthier work-life balance.”
Campaigners, trade unions and economists argue that a four-day week could bring multiple benefits to society, the environment, our democracy and our economy through increased productivity.
What does it mean for clients?
We are updating all of our clients and have plans to ensure there will be no difference to the services they receive from Northern CC.
The company already have a flexible working policy that allows staff to take time off in lieu (TOIL) throughout the month, with processes in place to provide adequate cover and resources across all of our accounts.
We are excited to see the impact on productivity and confident that our clients will not only share this feeling, but the benefits too.
